What make is the lock? Is there a logo on it?
Is there a code or any markings on the strip?

How to measure the backset of a door lock:
This is the measurement from the faceplate to the centre of the spindle.

How to measure the backset of a cockspur handle:
To determine the backset of a cockspur handle, you need to measure from your window frame, to the underside of the arm.

How to measure the PZ of a door lock:
This is the measurement from the centre of the cylinder to the centre of the spindle.

How to measure the PZ of a door handle:
This is the measurement from the centre of the cylinder to the centre of the spindle.

How to measure a cylinder:
Measurement from one side to the centre, and then from the other side to the centre, e.g. 30/40.

How to measure a thumbturn cylinder:
Always give the measurement of the thumbturn side first. Measurement from the thumbturn side to the centre, and then from the other side to the centre, e.g. 40/40.

Inline or Offset – Inline is when the gearbox is in the centre of the rail. Offset is when the gearbox is set to one side of the rail. |
